The Norwegian Building Authority has received from the Norwegian Road Authority a misleading certificate for road safety barrier.
The Italian notified body which have issued the certificate (ENTE CERTIFICAZIONE MACCHINE SRL) is not notified for the CPR, and therefore not notified to carry out assessment and verification related to EN 1317-5 (road safety barriers).
The construction products covered by this certificate do not have satisfactory documentation. The Norwegian Building Authority did not find any trace of these products on the Norwegian market, but has anyway informed the Norwegian customs, its European colleagues, as well as the notified body, and the notifying authority that has designated the notified body.
This case clearly illustrates the importance of checking the NANDO base, especially to control if the notified body, which has issued the certificate, is notified for carrying out third-party assessment for the harmonised standard mentioned in the certificate.
